Lake Myra Elementary PTA Minutes from April 27, 2009 Attendance: Stacy Johnson, Joni Bailey, Felicia Woodard, Gretta McCarver. Sabrena Lynn, Jim Argent, Kim Hammonds. JoAnna Faris and Crystel Behrend. Anyone else I missed, I apologize. The PTA met with the PE and Music teacher to go over the schedule for the year. Since we are not having a track 2, we are going to try and schedule performances and things when all tracks are in school. The PTA is going to try and focus on Cultural Arts programs this year. Since the school is new we should have just about everything we need. Some events that the PTA have suggested are a Fun Run, Book exchange, movie night, pizza bingo, Christmas shop. Any other suggestions are welcome. We are looking for committee chairs and volunteers for Fundraising, Fun Run, painless fundraising, cultural arts program, volunteer recruitment, hospitality events and newsletters. Any time given would be greatly appreciated. Our beginning account balance is $2000.00. Knightdale Elementary School very kindly granted our school $2000.00. We are in the process of getting the federal tax id and checking account set up. May 14th is the PTA New Officer training seminar. I believe Joni and Stacy are going. Felicia said she would check with her church about getting back pack and school supplies donated. Stacy is also going to check with Faith Baptist. July 28th is going to be the open house for track 1. August 25th will be for tracks 3 & 4. At the July 28th meeting we will be voting on the budget. At the 2nd open house, we will present to the parents what was voted on. Our next meeting is scheduled for June 16th at 10:00 am at Lake Myra Elementary school. We are planning on going over the budget and trying to set a schedule for the first couple of months. I can’t wait to see the school and our office. We will probably ask people from tracks 3 & 4 to help at the first open house to sell memberships and people from track 1 to sell memberships for the 2nd open house. I’m typing these up after our parent meeting, sorry. We had a great turnout of parents signing up to volunteer for different committees. I am very excited about this coming year. Thank you, Stacy Johnson Secretary of Lake Myra PTA
