Lake Myra Elementary PTA Meeting Minutes Tuesday, March 30, 2010 Attendees: Joni Bailey, Jim Argent, Chris Barrow, Michelle Murnen, Maureen Watson, Amelia Thornton, Dann Thornton Call to order: 5:30pm. Yearbooks are currently being put together. Pre-order forms where sent home on the 25th. Shade Covering - Pricing received from NC Playscape and application for grant submitted to Wake County. Covering should be installed by late May / early June. Remaining budget requirements discussed. $4,500 earmarked for shade covering; $200 for 5th grade music program / celebration on May 25th. PTA to help cover the cost of "grade" photo for 5th graders. Snacks for Early Release on April 21st. Teacher Appreciation Week to be held the week of May 24-28th while all tracks are in. Appreciation "events" to be decided on at the April PTA meeting. Discussion on how to increase the PTA membership and parent volunteering for the 2010-2011 school year. Joni Bailey and Chris Barrow, with input from teachers and administration, to create a detailed list of volunteering needs. The list will include a description of the job and time commitment involved with each job. General PTA Meeting: The last general pta meeting has been re-scheduled to Friday, May 28th at 8:30am. The PTA to host Donuts w/Dad and Muffins w/Mom during the meeting. Voting for the PTA Executive Board positions for the 2010-2011 school year will be held during this meeting. Nomination forms to be sent home with all current Kind-4th grade students and incoming kindergarten families. The next PTA meeting will be held on Thursday, April 29th at 5:30 in the Media Center.
