PTA Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, June 16, 2009


Call to order: 10:15
Attendance: Jim Argent, Sabrena Lynn, Felicia Woodard, Joni Bailey, Stacy Johnson, Gretta McCarver, and Celia Lorenzana

We went over the budget line items to have a final proposal to show at the General PTA meeting on July 28th.  Wendell Elementary donated $1000 to our PTA. Thank you very much.  The decision to have a professional CPA do our financial review was decided on.  We decided to raise money for playground covers.  Our goal is to raise $10000 and Wake County will issue a matching grant to purchase these covers.

Run for Fun
Date has been moved to Thursday, November 12th.  Celia and Joni will be meeting with Julie Hinshaw to get ideas on doing a Run for Fun.  Members of the PTA will be going around to area businesses to ask for donations.  Business donating a minimum of $100 will have their logo printed on the back of the Run for Fun Tshirts.  All business donating money will be mentioned on newsletters that will be sent home and published online.  They will also be on the banners during the fun run. 

Green Fundraising
Celia has located a company that will collect used computers, cell phones, ipods, ink jet cartridges and other items for money.  This is another way to go green and raise money for the school.

Cultural Arts Program
We are looking for someone to chair our Cultural Arts Program.  If you are interested, please contact Joni Bailey.
